Architectural Acoustic

Today, a development's acoustic quality is one of the most important considerations when constructing residential buildings or condominium complexes. This aspect pertains to not only the acoustic isolation (soundproofing) between units, but also the intrusion of noise from external sources through the building envelope and noise generated by the plumbing, ventilation and/or air conditioning systems.

A selection of appropriate and high-performance equipment at the design and budgeting stage is always preferable to the more expensive correctives to an existing building.

Noise in Commercial Buildings

The high noise level found in certain office buildings is often at the root of employee discomfort and lack of concentration. The excessive reverberation as well as the need for privacy in closed offices, open areas and conference rooms are all examples of cases which require a particular acoustic design.

Acoustic quality in cultural establishments

Performing arts centers, sports complexes, auditoriums, classrooms, etc. — these all require a superior listening environment. Different parameters such as the ambient noise level (NC), the speech intelligibility index (STI and RASTI), the definition (D 50) and the reverberation (RT) of the space allow us to quantify its acoustic profile.

A judicious choice of building and acoustic materials, selected according to the space type and anticipated use, ensures that the space will meet your expectations.
